Camp-O-Rama

Ava had her first camping experience at Yellowstone Lake State Park on Saturday with Mom, Dad and our friends Jeff and Chris (and Bismarck, their dog!). It's been a tradition for us to camp with our friends on this particular weekend, and as is usually the case, the weather was hot and humid. It's the kind of hot and humid that has you sitting around staring at each other in silence around 2 in the afternoon.

Scott took off on Friday to begin the camping fun a bit early, but Ava and Mom arrived early Saturday morning, complete with a homemade strawberry pie (strawberries furnished by Matt, the accomplished alp horn musician and wine maker in New Glarus... you still reading our blog, Matt??).

Ava played with "doggie" a whole bunch, feeding Bismarck a bunch of her snacks. Ava also donned her stylish swimsuit and played at the beach, took walks with us and just took in all the sights and sounds. We were lucky there weren't a whole lot bugs or mosquitos yet.

And speaking of insects, when Dada was taking down his tent and putting his bedding away in the morning, he found a colony of tiny little spiders skittering around his bed sheets.... he then found the big mama spider, as he shook the sheet. I'M STILL DISTURBED! I hate spiders like Indiana Jones hates snakes. But, that's camping.

By the way, Happy Fathers Day everyone!
