So I know what you're thinking. You're thinking, "Hey, guys, I know parenting is busy, but it's January 16 and you're posting New Year's pictures now?" Yes, indeedy, we are! We have a good excuse, though. Well, not really, but it does involve forgotten cameras, computer issues and a Chicago loss at home against the Packers.
So, anyways, onto the fun we had over New Years! We packed up the car for a family sleepover at our friends Donna and Nick's house. Ava was so happy to spend time with her little friend Hanna and big kids Caitlyn and Isaac. (Actually, Ava and Hanna were so excited to be together that they wore matching outfits and pj's!) Anne and Scott enjoyed the tasty food and occasional adult conversation interspersed with face painting, robot battles and other fun activities.
By the way, Donna had an idea that everyone with kids should copy. Every hour for the four hours before the kids' bedtime, we had a mini New Years. We counted down the seconds, and then downed several shots (just kidding). Seriously, just kidding. Actually, the kids opened up a goodie bag full of stuff such as horns, shakers and craft activities. The kids loved it.
Well, here are a few of the pictures. It's our four-month anniversary with Ava tomorrow, by the way. How fabulous is that?

I was thinking about the Avaster this morning and decided to check the blog on a whim. Yeah, new post! Sounds like a fun time. We miss you guys - we were thinking maybe we could see you guys somehow after our Brazil trip. We'll be back Feb. 21. Hey, how 'bout them Packers? And in the spirit of Midwestern solidarity, my Chicago residency, and the fact that the Bears aren't the Vikings, how 'bout them Bears? I watched my first game last week, and it was great on Manuel's HDTV. Plus, I got to see that traitor Holmgren get all red in the face. Ha! Later, dudes! Dan
We had a great time with you guys...
Great idea re: the shots! We'll have to save THAT idea for NEXT year...and maybe do the shots every hour AFTER the kids' bedtime! HA!...that is, if we can keep our eye's open much beyond 8 or 9 p.m....
LOL!
:-) Nick & Donna
p.s. Wow...four months already! Time just flies!
