After Christmas with Scott's family, we loaded up the sleigh for a quick drive to the other side of town where Anne's family was eagerly waiting. After a few minutes of checking everyone out, Ava was ready to hop down and explore. Her favorite activity was running up and down the hallway to the people waiting at each end - she'd give them a hug and a kiss, and then spin around to head back down the hall. Relatives were gently nugging each other out of the way to take their turns. Ava was quite the kissing bandit this weekend with all of the relatives - she'd blow kisses and kiss kneecaps with a big smack. She even kissed the couch pillow when she flopped into it. What an amazingly sweet little girl she's turning out to be.
Grandma introduced her to some fun books - the Teddy Bear book was her favorite - and playing the piano. (Anne's always looked forward to having a daughter learn piano from her piano-teaching mama - it was worth the wait!) Ava enjoyed sampling the sweet potatoes from the big-people table, and loved the gift tag from Mike. Dancing to the uncles tapping also proved to be fun. Everyone was amazed by her baby-signing ability, especially when Grandma and Grandpa showed her a picture book with animals and she'd act out the elephants, dogs and cats.
What an amazing Christmas all around. Ava was HERE - healthy and happy - and the families just adore her. Life just seems more vivid now. (Can you tell Anne wrote this instead of Scott?)

I keep on coming back to these photos - it was so much fun spending time with Ava at Christmas. I hope to be able to come back before too long and see her again! Oh, and everyone else too.
