Everyone loves a parade....

Everyone loves a parade.....well, we never did, actually. Our suburb has a parade every year, and the only emotion we ever got out of it was annoyance because it would trap us in our neighborhood when we wanted to drive somewhere.

Funny how having a kid changes that. On Sunday, we walked down to the parade route to meet up with Scott's friend Mike (of Classic Wisconsin fame) and his daughter Ellen. Suddenly, floats sponsored by Ace Hardware, firetrucks, cloggers and retirees dressed up as clowns seemed fun and fresh. Ava loved it - dancing along to anything playing music that passed by, and saying "thank you" every time candy was thrown our way or we were given a flyer. Of course, we only captured the more serious expressions on camera - when she's laughing and jumping up and down, we sometimes are having too much fun to capture the moment!

By the way, in addition to a few parade pictures, above you'll find Ava's newest obsession - stickers! We brought them out to practice the word "please." As you can see, Ava definitely knows the word now!
