First Pro Haircut

Ava graduated to her first beauty salon haircut today, and the results are fabular! That's not to say that Anne has retired her kitchen shears altogether, but Anne and Scott were both very happy with Ava's new "do." Ava -- at first -- was, well, not happy.

Notwithstanding the Dora cartoon on the television and the enticing shiny chair-cars that greeted us, Ava clung to Anne like flies on a rib roast. There just wasn't any peeling her away from Anne to sit in the little car. "See Ava, look, the steering wheel turns," said Dad. "Wow, look Ava, cartoons. Isn't that great," asked Dad? "Look at that other little girl getting her haircut," said Mom. "Look, she's lovin' every minute of it!"

Despite our convincing arguments, we were taken to a room in back (always a good thing when you're relegated to the "room in back") where Ava could sit on Anne's lap. She was much more comfortable with the new arrangement and paged through books with Mama, pointing and labeling the pictures, as in, "BayBay" (Baby).

On the way home, Ava cried and cried. Dada couldn't figure out why, but after an analysis of the scene Scott figured the little hairs under her shirt were driving her bonkers. One fresh shirt later, Ava is sound asleep on nap.

I love the do! I have been trying to tell my 21 year-old guy stylist to cut my bangs like that, but he chooses not too.

Miss y'all
