"We laughed, we cried" - perfectly sums up an amazing shower hosted by Anne's friends Kathy and Julie on Saturday! Julie flew in from Phoenix to help host a shower at Kathy's (stunning) house.
Ava made a guest appearance for the first hour before she needed to go home for naptime. She enjoyed meeting Anne's friends while showcasing her ability to wink on cue, neatly eat Gerber puffs and wear super-cute shoes. After some wonderful food and ladybug cutout cookies, Anne's family and friends shared a grand surprise. They each contibuted a page to a "girlfriends" scrapbook, sharing memories and fun photos. (Yes, the first time Anne wears makeup in weeks - didn't last long.)
We feel honored to have such wonderful friends, and creative too! Kathy created a wonderful painting, Donna sewed an adorable Chinese New Year bag and Traci made a homemade dragonfly blanket. Everyone was so thoughtful, and FUNNY! Man, I wish we could all live on a commune somewhere, or at least visit a tropical beach together for a week!
As the shower circuit draws to a close, we just want to thank everyone who hosted or attended a shower for our family. Each shower has so many fun memories. We also want to thank everyone who dropped by with food, or sent cards, or called/e-mailed to say hi. We feel blessed to have so many people that care about little Ava and her parents. Thank you for the gifts, but most importantly, thank you for your friendship. We feel lucky that Ava will grow up among such a wonderful group of people!

Now how fun is this to blog in and be able to say hi to Annie's friends. Julie and Kathy, the shower was really fantastic! Julie, thanks for flying in from Arizona; and Kathy, thanks for hosting the shower in your lovely home. To you all, I am so happy that Anne has such wonderful friends--you are all delightful! And dear babies in attendance, thanks for amusing us and making a cloudy day seem not cloudy at all.

Awesome party ladies! I had a great time (despite the tears!) Anne - you didn't mention your mom and her press pass - she's awesome (did all 150 pictures turn out?)! Sorry your MIL couldn't attend - hope she's feeling better.
I enjoyed meeting everyone. When is our trip to Phoenix? Kathy and Julie - whew, what can I say? Awesome hostesses! Good to see Ava again too. I'm not kidding - she needs to be in commercials. Surely I'm not the only one who would pay to see her "WINK!"
