On June 10, Anne's mom threw a fabulous baby shower. The party was full of relatives from Anne's Dad's side of the family, and well as family friends. Here's a photo of some of the group! You'll notice that Anne doesn't look that tall in the photo, even though she's almost 5'11" - they grow them tall on this side of the family!
June 10 was Flag Day in Appleton, which is a big deal here. The town supposedly has the largest Flag Day parade in the US. This made for a fun theme for a summer shower! Anne's mom described the theme as "Chinese-American Fusion" and it was fabulous! Everything from Mickey Mouse welcoming our daughter to America, to the great food, to the shared Fortune Cookie recipe were so fun.
The men went down to the parade while the shower was going on, although Uncle Tom would have preferred a Mardi Gras parade! Here's Emmett back from the parade!
One wonderful surprise was that all of the girls decorated onesies for our daughter. Look at all of the talent!
The girls also ate a lot of fortune cookies - Cheyenne pulled ahead of the group by eating 19 fortune cookies. (We're predicting she'll be very lucky in the future!)
Anne got to catch up with her cousin Sue, who is also adopting a daughter from China. Their login date is a bit later - April 4, 2006. We look forward to getting the girls together in the future! Here are Kennedy and Morgan, Eileen's kids.
Thanks, Mom and Dad, for the fabulous party!

It was our delight to give you a party in honor of your family of three (-: Thanks for your fun recap of the shower. I love re-living it.

Hi Anne and Scott!
Thanks again for the peek inside your world! I loved the idea of a Flag Day shower! Very cool!
Here in FL you just don't see that "hometown" holiday spirit... grew up in NY and we had parades for everything! I guess there are just too many transplants here! LOL!!
We are on deck guys.... we could potentially see our referral in the next week or so (if those rumors prove true) but for sure it seems by next month!! Wooo-hoo!
Have a great week!
Lisa ... ie; your Bethany travel pals!
